The Oak Lawn Tennis Association (OLTA) is pleased to announce that the Texas Open XXX, a GLTA-sanctioned tournament, will be held October 10-12, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. In conjunction with our 30th Texas Open, OLTA will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of our club. We have some exciting plans and ideas in progress for this fun event! Here’s a little preview…

A Welcome Party/Reception will be on Friday evening, Oct 9th. Tournament play will begin at Samuell Grand Tennis Center early Saturday morning, Oct 10th, and Finals Rounds should conclude Monday late afternoon on Columbus Day, Oct 12th.

Our Host Hotel will be the wonderful Warwick Melrose Hotel, right in the heart of Oak Lawn and steps away from many restaurants, clubs, shops and a short distance from the tournament site. We have blocked 20 rooms at a rate of $110 per night including free valet parking. This rate is good from Oct 8 (if you want to come 1 day early) through Oct 11. This is the best place to stay in Oak Lawn and we highly recommend taking advantage (normal rates are $200/night plus). Hint: Split the room/rate for an even better deal!

And we’re sure you’ll enjoy all that Big D has to offer during your visit including Two-Stepping at the World-Famous Round-Up Saloon (only steps away from the Melrose), Shows and Entertainment at the Rose Room at S4 (only steps away from the Melrose), Standing & Modeling on the large balcony of JR’s (only steps away from the Melrose…. you get the idea). All of this should be a lot of FUN! Oh, and there should be some great tennis play too!
